What's the best method to take care of your black leather shoes?

My leather shoes are Ralph Lauren Polo Sport. They have a buckle that holds the shoelaces down. On the tongue it says Leather Upper.

They are not smooth leather like this:

But a rougher leather like this:

There are wrinkles all over the shoe. It almost looks scaley. My shoes are much identical to this:

I don't care about a shine or mirror shine. I'm just wondering how to keep them in good shape.

I bought these materials:

1.) Kiwi Leather Lotion: http://www.kiwicare.com/US/Products/Leat...

2.) Kiwi Shine Cloths (comes with two): http://www.kiwicare.com/US/Products/Leat...

3.) A non-Kiwi 100% horsehair brush. The area of the bristles are round and about the size of a 50 cent piece.

4.) Kiwi Protect All: http://www.kiwicare.com/US/Products/Mult...

Sounds like you know already. Just do not wear them out if it might rain or while working at anything. Keep them in a bag at home and out of the way of other shoes, boots etc.
Reply:Those products you have should work well. Wear them in ideal conditions too, don't get them dirty or wet if you can help it. The best way would be to keep them in the box, but what fun is that?
Reply:save them from mud .....and regulary polished
