Whats the best way to break in leather shoes, apart from wearing them 24/7?

shoes are a little tight on the upper part of them, its just a little uncomfortable, plenty of space at the front and not rubbing at the heal, I tryed the size bigger which were far too big!

Whats the best way to break in leather shoes, apart from wearing them 24/7?
fill them with wet newspaper over night this should soften them or even apply vastiline around the insides or try and get someone else to wear them ,wear them inside your home over a soft carpet if all else fails make sure you have a stock of plasters
Reply:Wear them in a hot bath, that is an old soldiers trick and it works, they will take on the shape of your feet. Don't forget to leave them on till they dry out.
Reply:yep, get em wet, and wear em dry. i found out by accident. i bought some brand new boots, and got absolutely soaked on my 100 mile ride home... thats bikes for you.

anyway, about 2hrs after i got back, the old bill arrived and arrested me... and in those days they didnt take yer boots off you... i had mine on in the cells for 3 days..damn, they were the most comfortable pair of boots i ever had. they lasted 18 years, and had 3 resoles...
Reply:If possible, overnight stick an object in you shoe where you want to stretch it out, try a tennise ball or softball.

Overtime you'll see a difference.

But it doesnt happen overnight.
Reply:See if you can purchase some shoe stretch, or rub alcohol on the inside wear the shoes are tight and pack socks or a towel or tee shirt inside overnight. This will loosen them up and make them a bit more pliable.
Reply:Wear them and sweat in them, as in sit and read a book in the bathroom while a hot shower is running. But don't take the shoes off until they are coold down after...
Reply:Spray some wd40 in them. Abracabdabra!
Reply:Smoother them in vasaline then stuff them tight with scrunched up newspaper,it used to work with my ex's new football boots!!
Reply:I have the same problem sometimes, and this usually helps:

Wet a pair of socks in vinegar, wear them and the shoes until the socks are dry. Can be done inside, but the more you walk the better. Good luck!
