Confused about boys' US shoe sizes?

My son is almost 9yrs old. His last sneakers were a size 6 in the upper kids sizes. Where do you go from here? Most kids shoe sizes stop at 6 or 6 1/2. The men%26#039;s shoe sizes don%26#039;t start until about 8 or 9. Is there something inbetween I%26#039;m missing...like a juniors or something? Thanks for the help.

Confused about boys%26#039; US shoe sizes?
There are the sizes in-between, there just aren%26#039;t a ton of them.

If you%26#039;re buying his shoes in a store that is a kind of catch-all store (Walmart, Target) or even a department store (Sears, JC Penney, Dillards, Goody%26#039;s), try taking him to JUST a shoe store. The people that work there are actually trained just in shoes, and they have a wider selection, because the whole store is shoes, instead of one little section.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know what store you are shoping at but Men sizes go much smaller. I believe I have seen 6 before.
Reply:My fiance wears a 7 1/2 in men. There are 7%26#039;s out there just harder to find. I would ask someone at a shoe store. I just bought my son 5 1/2 shoes for school. He%26#039;s 9.
Reply:no gap at walmart. They go from 1 to 13 there is no gap in sections that i noticed. My son is 5 years old and just hit size 1. I know it goes 0-13 in kids size then starts all over again with 1-13 again.
Reply:Go to a proper shoe store and use the foot measuring tool. Shoe sizes are chaotic.

Reply:There are mens size 6...just harder to find...Very hard if he is wanting the %26quot;skater%26quot; type shoes...I found some at Zumies (is that spelled right??) They carry %26quot;Fallen%26quot;, Vans, and DC brands...others also I believe...

Might be better off ordering online if you know exact size...
Reply:I never noticed a gap in shoe sizes when I was younger... maybe it%26#039;s the particular brand or style of shoes that you%26#039;re looking at.

Just go to a decent shoe store where they%26#039;ll be able to size his feet %26amp; get you the correct size for your son. Most have shoes in just about every %26quot;regular%26quot; size you%26#039;ll need.
