How do I remove permanent marker from the toes of my daughters shoes?

I bought my daughter some DC%26#039;s and there is a big black X on each toe, also some on the rubber (bought them at a thrift store...guess they didn%26#039;t want them stolen) I got some of it out (even at the store) but there is still a very noticeable gray X on the toes and I haven%26#039;t had any luck getting the marks off of the rubber. I will try some of the tricks for the rubber, but not sure what would be safe to use on the %26quot;leather%26quot; upper...

How do I remove permanent marker from the toes of my daughters shoes?
Try the Acetone (Nail Polish remover), if it not works, then give


thinner a try. it will work for sure but might take away the shine of the shoe, use it in very lesser amounts to avoid destroying its shine.

Reply:Sounds like you need to buy her some new shoes! My goodness, are you really that thrifty. Why would you waste you time trying to get it off when its not possible without ruining them. Why did you buy them in the first place if you knew they had permanent marker on them??.........I would just throw them away.....You probably only bad .50 cents for them anyway right?.....Are you really that cheap?
Reply:why did you buy defective shoes in the first place and then wasting your time cleaning it.It would have been much cheaper to buy some nice shoes than wasting your precious time cleaning them. My daughter wrote with permanet marker on her shoes ($30) I tried cleaning it the moment I saw her writing but but I didn%26#039;t bother to clean it to that extent..anyways she%26#039;s gonna grow out of it.
