How do I wash my dress shoes with cat pee on them?

My cat peed on my polyester boots. The only thing they are made of is the rubber sole heel and the polyester upper and lining. They are very simple with no natural material. I was going to wash them in the kitchen sink, cold water with soap and then vinegar. Is this the correct way to clean and deodorize these boots? I just dont want to mess up the polyester. :) Thanks

i don%26#039;t know if washing them will help cause anywhere you that has cats.. they%26#039;ll be tempted to pee on your shoes..
Reply:use running water
Reply:with your cat on the %26#039;gentle%26#039; cycle
Reply:This may help - its to do with childs urine in shoes - but cat urine should be similar. Dab the stain with some dry-cleaning fluid applied with a cotton ball. Then sprinkle talcum powder inside and outside the boot. Allow to dry %26amp; brush. Neutralise the smell with lemon juice on a cloth and wipe over boot. Vinyl boots can be washed in the washing machine or handwashed and dried in the sunshine
Reply:I would toss them. Even using commercial products like urine b gone is a lost cause as far as I%26#039;m concerned.
Reply:white vinegar and whater it smells awhile but it goes away it nutalises cat pee
