In the 80's it was cool to have crotchet shoes I desperately want a pattern for them?

The shoes I am talking about were worn in the same era as bubblegum Jeans. They had a foam rubber sole and were crocheted onto a piece of vinyl or leather which was then glued to the sole.

There were many types but they were mainly white cotton crotchet with beads in the upper toe area. They were fastened with either a tie that came from the back heel area through the front and around the ankle or in a mary jane style with a buckle on the outer side of each shoe.

I would really love a pattern for these shoes or a varient, I had heaps of them when I was young, I would love to make them for my little girls.

aslo where can you buy ready made foam shoe soles?

I would love some answers thanks for helping!

I crochet, too. Couldn%26#039;t find what you describe, but now you have me interested. I look forward to watching to see if anyone can supply the pattern you want.

Best wishes.

As for where to get the foam. I would try Joann Fabrics or any craft store should have it. Or just crochet the sole using heavier yarn or 2 strands. They would be great as inside shoes for school or church in winter where you wear boots outside.
