How do you get ballet-style high heels to stay up?

I recently bought a pair of high heel shoes that have the long ribbons to lace up your leg, but once you criss-cross them around your leg a few times and tie it in a bow at the top, they fall down once you start to walk because the upper part of your leg is wider than the bottom, so the laces fall down. Does anyone know how you keep the lacing to stay up? tape?

The ribbons need to go up just higher than the thick part of your calf...just below the knee. That way, your calf holds them up. If they don%26#039;t reach, stick to lacing them around your ankles.
Reply:maybe you should try lacing them tighter or just wrap the lacing around your ankles not all the way up. that will look cute, too.
Reply:I love those kind of shoes!!!!
